As you can see in the original post, the reverse of the 1857 Flying Eagle penny was pretty toasted. There was no definition or detail at all. I was a little hesitant, but I decided to try cleaning it anyway. Here it is now after a light rub of hydrogen peroxide with a Q-tip, and then a week-long olive oil bath. It is starting to show details more and more! I will keep it in oil for a while and report back on progress when there’s something worth updating. Thanks for checking!
