I finally ventured back to my parents’ backyard. On my first quick search there I quickly uncovered the 1891 Queen Victoria Canadian silver seated half dime. I’ve been anxious to get back, but a little short on time. This day I was a little rushed too, but I was able to scan a pretty big portion of the yard.
I got good hit after good hit, and dug and dug… only to find junk after junk. The hits were all ringing coins, from pennies, to nickels, to quarters and dimes. Alas, just a bunch of nails and shredded aluminum siding from a time long ago. I have come to HATE aluminum siding.
When I got home, I had to drop something off at my neighbor’s house. While walking over I saw this modern dime just sitting on the sidewalk, waiting to be picked up. No detector needed… oh universe, why dost though mock me?
